Nestled in the charming village of Rhinebeck, New York, the Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn is the perfect blend of history, cozy comfort, and romance.
When I’m tired, stressed, and need a break – I escape to this perfect retreat in the Hudson Valley. Steeped in centuries of history, the Beekman Arms is the oldest continuously operating inn in America. It’s been making people feel at home since before the Revolutionary War. When I want to get away, Beekman Arms is my a cozy getaway, a romantic escape, a historic adventure, and an exciting hunt for the perfect antique.
The rustic wooden ceiling beams in the lobby bring me back to colonial times.
The rooms at Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn are cozy and comfortable. My room was complete with wood-burning fireplace, wood floor, and lovely antique furniture. A perfect, romantic room for my wife and I.
A stay at the Beekman Arms lets you become part of the Inn’s significant history. It’s been welcoming visitors since 1766, and its walls are filled with stories of bygone eras.
And the town of Rhinebeck is just as rich in history. Stay at The Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn and check out the picturesque Dutchess County Fairgrounds and the nearby Wilderstein Historic Site. These side trips are a perfect addition to this long-weekend experience.
And if antiquing is your thing, Rhinebeck is the perfect place to indulge in a little treasure hunting. The town is dotted with antique shops offering everything from vintage furniture to rare collectibles. Strolling along the quaint streets, it seemed to me that every corner had something special.
Plus, The Beekman Arms has its own on-site restaurant, The Tavern. The food is delicious and usually includes some of the best local ingredients and produce. For dinner I had the Pot Pie and it was the perfect comfort food … loaded with fresh turkey, root vegetables, and topped with a Cheddar Bay Biscuit. I asked for their most popular local beer and was served a Sloop Juice Bomb; the golden, citrusy beer went perfectly with dinner.
Also, the town of Rhinebeck has plenty of amazing restaurants that are sure to please.
In part, The Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn is a standout destination because of Rhinebeck itself. The tree-lined streets are filled with boutique shops, art galleries, and cafes, making it the perfect place to slow down. My favorite time to go is in the fall when the leaves are turning. Rhinebeck in the fall is absolutely magical.
I’ve enjoyed every stay at this cozy, historic Inn. I think you’ll love it, too.
